2-Week Fast Track WELDING

Welding continues to be a high-demand career and Butler is
providing an accelerated path to the workforce.
BETA’s new 2-week non-credit, fast track program lets you
learn the skills and safety practices to perform various types of
welding. This allows you to learn what you need to know during
any of the 2-week sessions.
• Gas metal arc (GMAW)
• Gas tungsten arc (GTAW)
• Shielded metal arc (SMAW)
This approach will allow individuals,
both employed and those looking for
employment, to advance their career
in a manner that works around the
demands of their schedule.
These 2-week fast track courses will
be offered on the Butler Community College - El Dorado campus
in the Welding Technology Center – Bldg. 300 from 6 p.m. to 10
p.m. M - F.

TEAS Test Preparation Course

Date: Wednesday February 4, 2015 through Wednesday April 15, 2015

Need help getting ready for the TEAS Test?
All new format!
Melissa Elliott will instruct potential health care workers,
preparing them to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills
(TEAS) exam. This exam is required for entrance into many
programs such as nursing and dental hygiene. The course
will run for 10 weeks and will cover test taking strategies and
testing over all four sections of the TEAS exam.
Class periods will consist of practice tests, 2 reading, 3 math,
2 science and 2 English and provide instant feedback for
improvement. This feedback can be used to direct study on
topics that need enhancement.
Class sections are:
Wednesdays, Feb. 4 - April 15, 2015
(no class on March 18)

In this workshop you will gain an understanding of basic accounting terminology, have a working knowledge of financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement, etc.) and what they mean and know how to analyze your financial statements to better manage your business. Financial ratios, measurements and controls will be discussed to provide better oversight of your business. We will also discuss how to calculate Mark-up vs. Margin, how they are different, and how each affects your profitability. This workshop is presented by the KSBDC. Registration is required one week prior to the workshop. There is no fee for this class. Please register by February 11th.
