Bring out the whole family for an evening of Christmas shopping and festivities on Friday, December 4th. Local Businesses downtown will be open for shopping and dining. Many running specials for this particular night!
This year the downtown Christmas Parade will take place at 6:00pm. It will begin at North Main and Fourth St. and travel south to Ash Street past the already illuminated Depot.
Immediately following the parade, gather on the Court House lawn for the lighting of the Big Old Spruce Tree, hot chocolate and live music. Santa will be there to address the children, then he and his reindeer will travel down Candy Cane Lane (Central St, from the Court house down to the Museum) to the Oil Museum. Here the children may visit Santa and have their picture taken too!
At the Museum enjoy an “Old Fashioned Christmas. All of the outdoor buildings will have special hosts with special happenings inside. There will be activities and crafts for the children as well.
You and your family may also enjoy a chili and cornbread feed while at the museum. Don’t forget this is where Santa will be, following all the festivities at the courthouse.
Admission to the museum is by donation. Please mark you calendars now for this fun festive evening. What better way to start the Christmas Season?
